Interview 14: Rykka

-How will be your staging?

I’ve had meetings with the team at the Swiss Television SRF to design my staging and worked on the style and mood and what will happen on stage with them. It was really a team effort, and it was so great to be so involved, I love that stuff! Of course there will be surprises! I’m working on a dress with LYN Lingerie, it will be a collaboration. LYN x RYKKA! Tanja Dankner, Nyssina and Brandy Butler will be singing with me in Stockholm. They’re all amazing singers and I’m so excited to have them on board.

-Are you an eurofan? What is your favourite song of the history of Eurovision?

Because I grew up in Canada I’ve only been following the ESC for a few years now. I find it so amazing that so many people grew up with it and have such a special connection to the ESC.

-What is the message of your song?

The message of The Last Of Our Kind is to always stand up for love above all. Stand up for yourself and for people and other beings who can’t stand up for themselves. Standing up for love also sometimes means to go against your own ego and really search to find the truth.

-What did you feel when you won your preselection?

I always work to visualise positive things, but at the Swiss selection I wasn’t thinking about winning anymore. I was just having a great time because everyone backstage was so wonderful and it felt like family.
Of course it means a lot to me that I won the preselection because Eurovision connects so many great people. It’s so amazing to meet so many amazing people who are connected to Eurovision in some way. Also, I’m so proud to represent Switzerland because it’s really in my heritage and I love it here so much.

Entrevista 14: Rykka

Nuestra decimocuarta entrevista nos la ha concedido Rykka, representante de Suiza en Eurovision 2016.

-¿Cómo será tu puesta en escena?
He tenido reuniones con el equipo de la televisión suiza SRF para diseñar mi puesta en escena y trabajar en el estilo y en lo que ocurrirá sobre el escenario. Ha sido verdaderamente un trabajo de equipo, y fue algo intenso porque estábamos todos muy implicados. Me encanta todo esto. Por supuesto que habrá sorpresas. Ahora estoy trabajando en lo concerniente al vestido con LYN Lingerie. Será una colaboración. ¡LYN x RYKKA! Tanja Dankner, Nyssina y Brandy Butler cantarán conmigo en Eurovisión. Son unos cantantes increíbles y estoy encantada por el hecho de que estén en mi equipo.

-¿Eres eurofan? ¿Cuál es tu canción favorita de la historia de Eurovisión?
Debido a que crecí en Canadá, solo he podido seguir el festival estos últimos años. Creo que es algo increíble que tanta gente crezca con él y tenga una conexión tan especial con Eurovisión.

-¿Cuál es el mensaje de tu canción?

El mensaje de The Last of Our Kind es que el amor se encuentra por encima de todo. Nos hace seguir adelante tanto por nosotros como por otros que no tienen el ánimo para ello. El amor también conlleva que muchas veces luchemos contra nuestro propio ego y vayamos tras la verdad.

-¿Qué sentiste cuando ganaste tu preselección?

Siempre trato de ser positiva, pero en la preselección suiza pensaba que yo no podía ganar. Lo estaba pasando muy bien porque todo el mundo en el backstage era muy amable y los sentía como de mi familia.
Haber ganado la preselección significa mucho para mí porque Eurovisión conecta con mucha gente. Es emocionante conocer a gente increíble que de algún modo tengan algún lazo con Eurovisión. Asimismo, estoy muy orgullosa por poder representar a Suiza porque amo este país.

Interview 13: Zöe

Today we publish an interview to Zöe, the Austrian artist. Here you are:  

-What would be your favourite performance number in the semifinal? And in the final?

I really don't know what would be the best for me, but I think the contestants who perform at the end have good chances because the last song is often the one you remember the best (well it depends of course).

 

-How will be your staging?

We're still working on it currently and I don't want to spoil ;) 

 

-Are you an eurofan? What is your favourite song of the history of Eurovision?

Yes, definitly – I grew up with music and the Eurovision was always a special event in my family. I always have been fascinated by the stage, the lights and the show! Well I love Abba, so Waterloo and Loreen with Euphoria.

-Have you listened to your opponents? What do you think about them? What song is your favourite?

I listened to all of them but I could not tell a favourite yet since I haven´t seen them live with their final performance :) But they are many great songs and so many great artists.

-What do you think about Barei and her song “Say Yay”?

It is a very catchy song and I like it very much ! very cool performance as well :)

 

-What is the message of your song?

"Loin d’ici" is a song about a journey to an imaginary paradise – a place where everyone is happy singing and dancing. It’s not a physical place, more a state of mind.

The song is meant to radiate positive vibes to put a smile on the faces of those who listen to it!

 

-What did you feel when you won your preselection? 

I felt grateful and so happy And At first I couldn't believe it . I was overwhelming, it was a dream coming true!

Entrevista 13: Zöe

Nuestra decimotercera entrevista nos la ha concedido Zöe, representante de Austria en el próximo Festival de Eurovisión 2016. Aquí la tenéis.

-¿En qué puesto te gustaría actuar en la semifinal? ¿Y en la final?

Realmente no sé qué sería lo mejor para mí, pero creo que los concursantes que actúan al final tienen mayores oportunidades porque la última canción que escuchas es a menudo la que tú recuerdas mejor (aunque depende del caso, claro).

-¿Cómo será tu puesta en escena?

Seguimos trabajando en ello actualmente y no quiero adelantar nada para no estropearlo.

-¿Eres eurofan? ¿Cuál es tu canción favorita de la historia de Eurovisión?

Sí, por supuesto. Crecí con la música y Eurovisión fue siempre un evento especial en mi familia. Yo siempre me he sentido fascinada por el escenario, las luces y el show. Me encanta ABBA y su “Waterloo” y Loreen con “Euphoria”.

-¿Has escuchado a tus rivales? ¿Qué opinión tienes de ellos? ¿Cuál es tu canción favorita?

He escuchado a todos pero no podría decirte aún una favorita puesto que no las he visto en directo con su puesta en escena final, pero ellos son grandes artistas y tienen muy buenas canciones.

-¿Qué piensas de Barei y su canción “Say Yay”?

Es una canción muy pegadiza y me gusta mucho, así como su actuación.

-¿Cuál es el mensaje de tu canción?

“Loin d´ici” es una canción sobre un viaje a un paraíso imaginario, un lugar donde todo el mundo es feliz cantando y bailando. No es un lugar real, sino más bien un estado mental. La canción busca transmitir buen rollo y sacar una sonrisa a aquella gente que escucha la canción.

-¿Qué sentiste cuando ganaste la preselección?

Me sentí agradecida y muy feliz. Al principio no podía creerlo. Estaba abrumada porque mi sueño se había hecho realidad.

Entrevista 12: Minus One

Nuestra duodécima entrevista nos la han concedido Minus One, representantes de Chipre en el próximo Festival de Eurovisión 2016. Aquí la tenéis.

-¿Qué puesto de actuación os gustaría tener en la semifinal? ¿Y en la final?

No tenemos un puesto para actuar favorito. Sea cual sea para nosotros está bien tanto en la semifinal como en la final.

-¿Cómo será vuestra puesta en escena?

Seguimos trabajando en ella. Tenemos un equipo que ahora mismo prepara ideas. Ellos nos las presentarán y entonces elegiremos la dirección que tomar.

-¿Sois eurofans? ¿Cuál es vuestra canción favorita de la historia de Eurovisión?

Nosotros hemos visto Eurovisión desde que éramos pequeños pero no podríamos definirnos como eurofans. Nos gusta mucho Eurovisión pero nos lo hemos perdido algunos años. En cuanto a nuestra canción favorita... Bueno, hay muy buenas canciones pero coincidimos en que nos encanta Wig Wam y su “In my dreams” (Noruega 2005).

-¿Habéis escuchado a vuestros rivales? ¿Qué pensáis de ellos? ¿Cuáles son vuestros favoritos?

Hemos escuchado muchas canciones y nos parece un año muy bueno, y nosotros estamos en una semifinal muy difícil. Hay muy buenas canciones este año. Somos una banda formada por cinco integrantes. Cada uno de nosotros tiene su favorita y esta cambia a menudo, así que es muy diíficil escoger una.

-¿Qué opinión tenéis de Barei y su canción “Say Yay”?

Creemos que será el éxito dance de este año. Es una canción muy divertida y, en nuestra opinión, obtenga el puesto que obtenga, ella ya ha ganado. Estamos deseando conocerla.

-¿Cuál es el mensaje de vuestra canción?

La canción puede ser interpretada de diferentes maneras, pero principalmente habla sobre estar en una posición difícil en relación con la toma de una decisión y cómo de complicado es escoger a veces. Así que podemos decir que es una canción de amor diferente.

-¿Cómo surgió la idea de participar en Eurovisión?

La cadena chipriota nos preguntó si estábamos interesados. Fue una decisión muy sencilla. Y aquí estamos.

Hi there, We can't say that we have a favourite. Whatever happens is OK for us either in the Semi or in the final.

-How will be your staging?

We're still working on it. We have a team at the moment that is preparing ideas. They will be presented to us and we will then chose in which direction to go.

-Are you an eurofan? What is your favourite song of the history of Eurovision?

We've all have been watching the ESC from a young age but i wouldn't call us Eurofans. We like the Eurovision a lot but we have certainly missed watching a few of them. As for the favourite songs, well...there are so many good ones but i think as a band we would agree that we loved Wig Wm with "In My Dreams" 

-Have you listened to your opponents? What do you think about them? What song is your favourite?

We have listened to many songs and it looks like it is a very good year, and we are in a very hard semi final. There are a lot of good ones this year. We are a band, so there are five of us. All of us have different favourites and they change all the time, so it's complicated.

-What do you think about Barei and her song "Say Yay"?

It's definitely gonna be the dance hit of this year, it's a very fun song and in our opinion, whatever place she comes,she has already won! we're looking forward to meeting her.

-What is the message of your song?

You can interpret the song in different ways, but it mainly talks about being in a difficult position (caught in the middle) of making a decision and how difficult it is to chose sometimes. So it's a different kind of love song.

How did the idea about going to Eurovision appear? 

We were asked by the Cyprus broadcasting coorporation if we were interested basically. From there on it was a pretty simple decision. And here we are :)
